About this tool
Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPGs that open anywhere. Drop one photo or a whole camera roll's worth. Each file is decoded by a WebAssembly build of the HEIF library on your device and re-encoded as a high-quality JPG, ready to download singly or as a zip.
HEIC has been Apple's default since iOS 11. It stores photos at about half the size of an equivalent JPG, but plenty of software and upload forms still reject it, and converting to JPG fixes that. Conversion is local, so your photos are never uploaded. No file limits, no watermarks.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere during conversion?
- No. The HEIC decoder runs as WebAssembly inside your browser, so photos are converted on your own device and never sent over the network.
- Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
- Since iOS 11, iPhones default to HEIC because it stores the same quality as JPG at roughly half the size. The trade-off is compatibility: many apps and upload forms still only accept JPG or PNG.
- Can I convert many HEIC photos at once?
- Yes. Drop a whole batch and each photo is converted in turn, then download them individually or as one zip.
